Gert W Munthe served as CEO from August 1993 – June 1998. Gert monitored the design and roll-out of the national GSM network. A nationwide distribution network was established. NetCom took pride in being the innovative challenger. The company handled Norway’s first text message, SMS. The company launched voicemail, roaming, data packages and much more. Most importantly, Gert recruited outstanding people who were transformed into an innovative, forward thinking and cost conscious organization.NetCom went public in 1996, less than three years after commercial launch. Netcom secured the original investors approximately 70% annual return. The company was No. 9 in market cap on the Oslo stock exchange

Gert managed the Pronova transaction where Herkules acquired Pronova from Norsk Hydro in 2003. The first Herkules investment. Following a strategic repositioning Pronova was split in two. Pronova building a global pharmaceutical grade Omega lll business. Epax building a consumer grade bulk business.Gert recruited an internationally recognized CEO with extensive pharmaceutical experience, primarily from Merck. The management team was recruited and expanded.Pronova was IPO’ed in 2007. The investment produced a 10+ X for the Herkules fund
